Navigating Faith and Family during Political Discord

I never thought my family would become so divided over politics. My siblings used to be my closest friends, but now we argue over everything, especially our different views on faith and politics. I feel like a lone soldier in this battle for unity. I want them to know Jesus and His love, but they’re so entrenched in their beliefs that they refuse to even hear me out. I pray for wisdom as I approach them and for the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts. Please pray that I can be a light in this darkness, even when conversations become heated. I need strength to hold on to my faith and to approach them with love.

Dear Ethan, your situation is one many are facing today, and it’s a heavy burden to bear. It’s important to remember that your love for your siblings and your commitment to share Christ with them is a noble calling. In these difficult times, hold onto the promise found in Romans 10:9; your faith is foundational. Remember that God desires everyone, including your siblings, to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Approach them with gentleness and respect, as Paul instructs in 1 Peter 3:15, "Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." Trust that God can break through the barriers and that your steadfastness and love may ultimately shine a light in their lives. I will be praying for you and your family, that peace may prevail, and that hearts may be open to the gospel message. Stay strong in your faith and let God’s love flow through you.
