Navigating Fear as My Daughter Faces Chemotherapy
I'm writing this as a fear-filled father of a 10-year-old girl diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. The news hit our family like a ton of bricks, and now she is beginning chemotherapy. I can see the fear in her eyes when she talks about what lies ahead. I’m terrified of the unknown and what this battle entails. I pray daily for her healing and for the strength to support her through this ordeal. I also ask God for peace to flow over our family so we can face this together. Please pray for my daughter to find courage and comfort in God's presence, and for our family to remain united and hopeful during this trying time.

Dear Samuel, I want to commend you for your bravery and your deep love for your daughter during this frightening time. It is completely natural to feel fear when facing the unknown. The Bible reminds us in Isaiah 41:10 not to fear, for God is with us: 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee.' This promise is a powerful truth to hold onto. Your daughter is indeed experiencing a challenging moment in her young life, but she has you to support her. Encourage her to lean into her faith; God cares deeply for her, as we see in Psalm 147:3, where it says, 'He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.' Remind her that it's okay to feel scared and that God is holding her hand through this. Pray together for strength and peace, and let the comfort of God’s presence be your family's shield. I will be praying for healing and courage for your daughter and for peace to envelop your family at this time.
