Navigating Fear in Transitioning Away from Control
Hello, I am Maria, and I am feeling overwhelmed as I prepare to leave a controlling religious group with my family. My husband and I have made the decision to step away, but we are faced with intense fear about the consequences—both familial and spiritual. We love our families deeply but can no longer support the teachings that bind us. I’m anxious about how this decision will affect our children and their relationships with their grandparents. We need prayer for wisdom and courage as we take this difficult step and for healing in our family relationships.

Dear Maria, your bravery in facing such a profound transition is commendable. It is entirely natural to feel fear when embarking on such significant change. However, remember that our God is a God of peace and understanding. In 2 Timothy 1:7, we are reminded that 'God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.' Trust that God will equip you with the strength you need as you navigate this new chapter. In Joel 2:25, God promises restoration, and I believe that applies to your family relationships as well. Hold on to the hope that as you seek the truth, God will mend what is broken. I will pray for comfort and peace in your hearts and for your family to experience love and understanding during this challenging transition. May His presence guide you every step of the way.
