Navigating Pain While Supporting Others
As a hospice social worker, I’m tasked with helping families cope with loss while suppressing my own feelings of grief. It's incredibly draining to provide emotional support while feeling the weight of my own heartache. Each family's situation feels personal, and I find myself often crying when I’m alone. I ask for prayers to help me navigate this difficult position where I feel both the urge to grieve and the responsibility to support. I want to find balance and strength, seeking God’s guidance to help me process my feelings without losing sight of my purpose. Please pray that I can embrace my emotions and find healing.

Dear Rachel, your role as a hospice social worker is both vital and challenging. It is a true testament to your heart for others. Grieving and supporting can feel like a heavy burden to carry. Remember, as it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3, "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort." He has equipped you to provide comfort to others while also allowing you to seek His comfort for yourself. Understand that it’s okay to feel the weight of grief—it shows your compassion. In moments of sorrow, lean into Psalm 147:3, which reassures us that He heals the brokenhearted. You don’t have to walk this path alone. Let’s pray: Lord, I ask that you surround Rachel with your comfort and healing. Help her find balance in her emotions and strength in her service. Amen.
