Navigating the Pain of Losing a Child
My wife and I are heartbroken over the recent loss of our baby during the late stages of pregnancy. We had already envisioned a life for our child, and the dreams we had felt so real. Now, those dreams are shattered, leaving us feeling lost and questioning everything we believed about God and His plans for us. It's been hard to cope, and our faith feels shaken. We'd appreciate prayer for strength and healing in our marriage as we both handle this grief so differently.

Dear David, I cannot express how deeply sorry I am for the loss you and your wife are enduring. Losing a child is one of life’s most profound sorrows, and I commend you for reaching out for prayer during this difficult time. It's important to acknowledge the diverse ways people grieve. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 reminds us that 'To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die.' Both you and your wife might need different spaces and times to process your grief. In moments when your faith feels shaken, hold on to the truth of God’s character—He is loving, compassionate, and present, even when we can’t see His hand at work (Psalm 34:18). Use this time to lean on one another and communicate openly about your feelings. I will pray for healing in your hearts and strength in your marriage, trusting that God will guide you through this cloud of grief into a place of peace.
