Overcoming Fear in a New Relationship
Hi, I'm David, and I’m 30 years old. I recently started dating someone who seems to be a wonderful match, but I can’t shake the fear of commitment. It feels like I’m constantly on edge, afraid to dive deeper into this relationship because I fear that it might end in heartbreak. My past experiences linger in my mind, making it hard to trust again. I want to fully invest in this new relationship and allow myself to feel loved, but anxiety keeps holding me back. I ask for prayers to help me find peace and the courage to open my heart completely. I want to build something beautiful without being hindered by fear.

Dear David, thank you for sharing your struggles with us. It’s completely understandable to feel fear in the face of new relationships, especially when the heart has been wounded before. God knows your pain, and He is here to help you through it. Remember, the Lord has plans for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11). In Isaiah 26:3, we are reminded that God will keep us in perfect peace when we trust in Him. Allow Him to guide your steps in this new relationship, remembering that love is a choice and a journey. You can lean on God's strength to help you navigate through anxiety. Let’s pray together: Lord, I pray for David as he embarks on this new relationship. Remove his fears and fill him with Your peace. Guide him in trusting and loving fully. Amen.
