Overcoming Fear in Sharing My Faith

·Daniel·September 11, 2024

I have a close Jewish friend who I want to share my faith with, but I feel a deep fear of rejection. Our conversations usually stay light, and I worry that introducing the topic of Yeshua might change our friendship. I fear that if she doesn’t accept what I share, it could lead to a divide between us. But deep down, I know how important it is for her to hear the Gospel. I’m struggling with how to approach this in a way that feels safe and loving, yet bold. I pray for courage to speak the truth and for the right words to convey the love of Christ without coming across as pushy. Please pray for me to have the confidence to share my faith while maintaining the integrity of our friendship.

Dear Daniel, your concern for your friend and your desire to share your faith is admirable. It’s natural to feel fear when approaching sensitive topics, especially with those we care about. However, remember that God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). When you approach your friend, be assured that the foundation of your friendship can handle open conversations about faith. Authenticity and love will shine through when you express your beliefs honestly. As you prepare to talk to her, pray for guidance and the right timing. Trust that God is already working in her heart, as He desires all to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). It may help to share your personal journey and the real impact Jesus has had on your life. I will pray that God grants you boldness and that your friendship deepens as you navigate this conversation.
