Overcoming Guilt in My Bible Reading Journey
Hi there, I’m feeling a lot of guilt about not being consistent with my Bible reading. I want so much to grow in my faith, but I often find myself too busy or too distracted to engage with God’s Word. I feel ashamed when I think about how I could be using this time to strengthen my walk with the Lord. It’s troubling because I know the importance of nurturing my spiritual life, and yet I can’t seem to commit. I’m asking for prayers that I can break this cycle of inconsistency and shame. I want to truly experience the joy of connecting with God through His Word.

Dear Michael, thank you for sharing your struggle. It shows how much you care about your relationship with God, and that is a wonderful first step. The feelings you’re experiencing are not uncommon, and I want to remind you that Scripture itself provides comfort for our shortcomings. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:7, 'For we walk by faith, not by sight.' It’s vital to approach your reading with grace and remember that God is more concerned about your heart than your performance. Consider setting aside specific times for your devotion to create a habit. Philippians 4:13 tells us, 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' Lean on Him for the strength you need. Remember the promise in Isaiah 40:31 that 'they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.' Let us pray: Father, I ask that You help Michael overcome guilt and find joy in Your Word as he seeks a deeper relationship with You. Amen.
