Overcoming Inherited Patterns of Anger
Hi, I'm Lisa, a 38-year-old mother of three. My father’s explosive anger deeply impacted my childhood, and I see the same patterns emerging in my own parenting. I often find myself losing my temper with my children, mirroring the behavior I experienced. I am terrified that I will pass this anger onto them, continuing the cycle of hurt. Please pray for me to find peaceful ways to respond and to create a loving home where anger doesn’t rule our lives. I long to break this cycle and be a nurturing mother.

Dear Lisa, thank you for your heartfelt request. It takes great strength to acknowledge the challenges you are facing, and I admire your desire to change for the sake of your children. Anger can be a difficult cycle to break, but with God’s help, all things are possible. As it is written in Proverbs 31:10, 'Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.' You are valued and capable of building a loving environment for your family. Remember to lean on God for strength and guidance—He can help you cultivate patience. In 1 Peter 4:8, we see the importance of love in overcoming struggles. I will pray that God fills your heart with peace and that you find constructive ways to respond to challenges as a mother. May you break free from the patterns of the past and create a legacy of love.
