Overcoming Stage Fright in My New Job
Hi, my name is Rachel, and I’m a 29-year-old marketing professional. I recently started a new job, and while I’m excited, I dread the thought of giving presentations. The anxiety grips my heart every time I think about having to speak in front of my colleagues. I feel like my voice will fail me, and I’ll forget everything I’ve prepared. It makes me question my abilities and wonder if I’m in the right field. I’ve tried techniques like deep breathing and practice, but the fear still overwhelms me. I want to succeed in my role and contribute to my team, but this anxiety is paralyzing. I’m asking for prayer to find courage and confidence in these moments of fear.

Dear Rachel, thank you for sharing your heartfelt struggle. It's completely natural to experience anxiety in new situations, especially in a professional capacity. Remember that you are not alone; even the Apostle Paul faced fears, as we read in Romans 8:15, where he reminds us that we have received the Spirit of adoption. This means you are a beloved child of God, empowered by His Spirit to face challenges. I encourage you to take comfort in Psalms 91:1, which says, 'He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.' Let God's presence be your safe haven during those moments of uncertainty. As you prepare for your presentations, lean on Philippians 4:7, which promises us that the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Pray for His peace to envelop you and calm your spirit. You will do great things, my friend! Let’s pray together: Lord, I ask that You fill Rachel with Your peace as she prepares to speak.
