Overcoming the Fear of Starting Over Professionally
After serving in the military for over a decade, I’m feeling a mix of excitement and fear as I embark on my journey into civilian employment. The thought of starting over is daunting; I worry about finding a job that aligns with my passions and pays the bills. I feel like I’m on shaky ground, and every rejection chips away at my confidence. I’m asking for prayers that I can trust God to lead me to the right opportunities. Please pray that I can embrace this new phase with courage and faith.

Dear Maria, it’s completely understandable to feel apprehensive about such a significant transition. Starting over can be terrifying, but I want to encourage you to lean on the truth of God’s word. In 1 Timothy 6:6, we learn that godliness with contentment is great gain. As you seek to align your career with your passions, remember that God knows your heart and desires to fulfill it. As you work diligently at tasks during this transition, Colossians 3:23 reminds us to do everything heartily, as unto the Lord. Your effort will not go unnoticed. Trust in His plan, for He has a purpose for you in this new chapter. Together, let’s pray for divine courage and clarity as you take these bold steps forward.
