Overcoming the Shadows of Past Trauma
I’m Maria, a 27-year-old college student who survived a serious car accident last year. Since that day, I have been living in constant fear, dreading the thought of getting behind the wheel again. Whenever I see a car accident or even hear a siren, I am gripped by anxiety. My friends tell me to just get back into driving, but the thought terrifies me. I feel trapped by my fears and it's affecting my studies and social life. Please pray for me to find the strength to face my fears, so I can reclaim my independence and enjoy my life again.

Dear Maria, thank you for reaching out and sharing your heart. It's completely understandable to have fear after such a traumatic experience, and I want you to know that you are not alone. God is our refuge, and He offers us a safe place to rest (Psalm 91:1). Your courage to seek help shows strength, and I encourage you to remember that you are a child of God, not given a spirit of fear but of love and power (Romans 8:15). The Lord promises to be with you in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). As you confront your fears, take it one step at a time. I will pray for your courage to drive again and for God’s peace to fill your heart. Trust in Him as you heal, and lean into His promises for support.
