Overcoming the Stigma of Loneliness
Lord, I am struggling with the stigma surrounding my feelings of loneliness. Sometimes it feels like society expects me to always be happy and social. I put on a brave face, but inside, I feel a constant ache of isolation. I know that I shouldn’t be ashamed to feel this way, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that I'm failing somehow. Help me to understand that it's okay to seek help and to share my struggles with others. I long to experience freedom from this loneliness and the anxiety that comes with it. Please guide me toward resources and supportive people who can offer encouragement. Amen.

Pastor Michael Thompson
Senior Pastor, Bethel Church
Dear Sofia, thank you for your honesty about your feelings. It's understandable to feel the weight of societal expectations, but I want to remind you that it's perfectly acceptable to seek help and share your struggles. In Psalm 55:22, the Lord says, 'Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.' God wants to carry your burdens, including the weight of loneliness. Surround yourself with trusted individuals who can offer support. Remember, everyone has struggles, and opening up can lead to healing. Reach out to Him in prayer with the promise of Isaiah 41:10, where He assures us, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.' Let us pray: Lord, I ask that You help Sofia see that she is not alone in her feelings. Provide her with the support and friendship she craves. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
