Overcoming the Weight of Past Mistakes
Hello, I'm Eric, and I’m reaching out because I struggle with feelings of guilt and shame over my past. I once walked closely with God, but poor choices led me away from His Word, and now I find myself hesitant to pick up my Bible. I feel unworthy of His love and am ashamed to return. I know that I need to reconnect with God, but fear often paralyzes me. Please pray for me to heal from the past and to find the courage to dive back into His Word, to understand His grace and forgiveness more deeply. I want to embrace my identity as a beloved child of God once again.

Dear Eric, thank you for sharing your heart. It takes courage to confront past mistakes, but remember, our God is a forgiving God. In 1 John 1:9, it says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us. Your feelings of unworthiness may stem from the enemy, but know that in Christ, we are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Embrace the truth of who you are—a beloved child of God, as stated in Romans 8:38-39, where nothing can separate you from His love. Take that first step in faith; choose a scripture that speaks to forgiveness and read it daily. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, I lift Eric to You, asking for healing from his past and the courage to embrace Your Word once more. Surround him with Your love and grace. Amen.
