Overwhelmed by Changes as I Prepare for Retirement
I am in a stage of life where retirement is approaching, and I feel an overwhelming wave of anxiety about it. I've dedicated my life to being a social worker, and now that I will no longer be working in that capacity, I feel like a ship without a sail. The thought of not having that daily connection with people and purpose gives me a sense of loss I didn’t expect. I fear what my days will look like and worry I won't have the same sense of fulfillment. I would appreciate prayers for peace and direction during this major life transition. I want to trust God to guide me toward fulfilling alternatives that will provide joy.

Grief and Healing Ministry
Dear Angela, it is completely understandable to feel anxious as you stand on the brink of retirement. It can feel like a significant part of who you are is being left behind. However, I want to remind you that God has not called you into a void but into a new chapter filled with possibilities. In Philippians 4:6-7, we are reminded to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. His peace can guard your heart and mind during this time of change. In Lamentations 3:22, we find encouragement that 'It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.' Trust that God’s compassion will lead you into this new season. Let’s pray for the Lord to fill your heart with peace and to open your eyes to new opportunities that await you. Embrace the journey ahead with hope and faith.
