Panic Before Presentations in College
Hi, I’m Mark, a 21-year-old college student. I’m studying psychology, but I can’t seem to shake the panic I feel before giving any presentation in front of my classmates. No matter how much I prepare, I feel like I’ll forget everything and embarrass myself. My heart races, and I can barely concentrate on what I want to say. I know my professors want to support us, but I feel so isolated in my fear. It’s holding me back from fully engaging in my studies and opportunities to share my ideas. I’m asking for prayer so I can find inner peace and courage to face these situations without fear.

Dear Mark, I appreciate your courage in sharing what you’re facing. Anxiety in academic settings is something many students deal with, but I want to remind you that you are equipped with God’s Spirit. Romans 8:15 tells us that we have not received a spirit of fear but of adoption. You belong to God, and He desires to see you succeed. Remember to lean into God's promise from Matthew 6:34, where we are reminded not to worry about tomorrow, for it will take care of itself. Instead, focus on your preparation and trust that God will give you the words to speak at the right moment. Each presentation is an opportunity for growth, so take it as a chance to learn, not merely to perform. Let's pray together: Lord, I lift Mark to You. Give him strength and confidence as he presents. Help him to remember Your presence and that You are with him always. In Jesus' name, Amen.
