Praying for Hope in Our Work Community
As a leader in a team of immigrant agricultural workers, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles they face—long hours, low wages, and the fear of deportation. Many of my crew carry burdens heavier than I could imagine. I want to introduce them to the hope and freedom found in Christ, but I often don’t know where to begin. I feel a strong urge to create a Bible study or prayer group, but I fear it might be seen as intrusive. I’m asking for prayers to find the right approach and to foster an environment where they feel safe to explore faith without judgment. I desire for them to know the peace of Christ in their lives.

Carlos, thank you for your willingness to lead your crew towards the hope of Christ. Your concern for their well-being is a reflection of Jesus’s heart for the lost. In the Gospel of John, we are reminded that Jesus came that we might have life, and that we might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). This abundant life is what you desire for your crew, and it begins with the love and compassion you show them. Consider starting with informal gatherings, where trust can be built over shared meals or coffee, creating a relational foundation to invite them into deeper conversations about faith. Remember, Luke 15:7 speaks of the joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, emphasizing that every effort you make is significant in God’s eyes. Your desire to create a safe space is a beautiful calling; trust that the Holy Spirit will lead you in this endeavor. I will be praying that God opens doors and softens hearts among your workers. Lord, bless Carlos with wisdom and peace as he leads his crew in hope.
