Praying for My Brother's Heart to Open
I'm reaching out for prayers for my older brother who struggles with alcoholism. I've tried discussing faith and God with him, but he shuts down every time. It breaks my heart to see him consumed by this addiction, and I feel hopeless when I can't reach him. I want him to know the love of Jesus and the freedom that comes through faith, but he is resistant to any conversation about it. Please pray that God softens his heart and opens his eyes to the truth. I believe that with God's intervention, my brother can find the strength to overcome his addiction and embrace faith. Thank you for your prayers.

Dear Sarah, thank you for sharing your burden with us. It’s evident how much you care for your brother, and it's difficult to see a loved one struggle. We can take comfort in knowing that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. Romans 3:23 reminds us that 'for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.' This includes your brother. It’s crucial to continue to pray for him earnestly. Remember that faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17), so your consistent love and prayers can plant the seeds of faith in his heart. Consider also bringing in other family members or friends to pray for him collectively, as the Bible tells us that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there (Matthew 18:20). Let us pray: 'Heavenly Father, we lift Sarah's brother before You. We ask for Your mighty hand to intervene in his life. Draw him towards You and give him the strength to seek help and healing. In Jesus' name, Amen.'
