Praying for My Father's Heart Before It's Too Late
I am filled with anguish as I witness my father, a man of strong will, nearing the end of his life due to an aggressive illness. Throughout my life, I’ve seen him grapple with faith, often rejecting discussions about God. Despite my efforts to share the gospel, he clings to skepticism. I worry that he may never accept Christ and that his soul will be lost. As I spend these final days with him, I long for the chance to lead him to the Lord, to see him embrace the truth and love of Jesus. Please pray for courage, wisdom, and an open heart for my father, that he may find salvation in his last moments.

Dear David, I can feel the weight of your heart as you care for your father in this difficult time. It’s incredibly challenging when a loved one resists the truth, but know that nothing is impossible for God. Romans 6:23 reminds us, 'For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.' Your desire for your father’s salvation is in line with God’s heart for all humanity. Remember, your father’s heart is not beyond the reach of God’s grace. Even in difficult circumstances, Jesus promises us an abundant life (John 10:10). I want to encourage you to keep praying, even silently, and seek opportunities to remind him of God’s love. You may also consider sharing testimonies from your life that speak of God’s faithfulness. Let’s pray together that the Holy Spirit stirs within your father’s heart, prompting him to seek the truth in his final days. May God grant you both peace and strength. In Christ’s name, Amen.
