Praying for My Stepson's Spiritual Awakening
As a stepmother, I want to connect with my stepson, Alex, who was raised in the church until his teens. Recently, he has started rejecting faith, claiming it's irrelevant to his life. I feel a deep responsibility to guide him and show him the love of Christ, but I often feel inadequate. He has so many questions and doubts, and I want to support him without forcing my beliefs. I fear he might fall into a lifestyle that is harmful and void of hope. Please pray for Alex’s heart to be opened to God’s love and truth, and for me to find the right words to encourage him on his journey.

Dear Laura, I appreciate you reaching out for prayer concerning Alex. It can be challenging to navigate the complexities of blended families, especially when dealing with matters of faith. However, trust that God has placed you in Alex's life for a reason. In Romans 6:23, we find that 'the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.' This gift is available to anyone who seeks it. It's wonderful that you recognize the importance of encouraging Alex without pressure. We are called to be examples of Christ’s love and to speak truth gently. 1 Peter 3:15 tells us to 'always be ready to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you.' Pray for opportunities to share your hope in Christ authentically. Together, let us pray for Alex to have a spiritual awakening and a desire to seek God in his life. Amen.
