Praying for Patience as a Homeschooling Parent
I’m a single mom trying to homeschool my two children, and some days I feel like I'm just not good enough. Each subject seems to take twice as long as planned, and my patience is wearing thin. I know I should be setting a good example for them, but when frustration sets in, it’s hard to keep my cool. I find myself doubting if I'm truly cut out for this. I want to remind my kids of the love of Christ, but I often feel like I'm failing. Please pray for me to have patience, wisdom, and the grace to show them unconditional love, even on the tough days.

Dear Sandra, your honesty about the struggles you face as a single homeschooling mom is not only courageous but essential. Many parents feel the weight of their responsibilities, and it’s important to remind ourselves that we are not alone in this journey. In 1 Corinthians 13:4, we read that 'Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.' Love includes patience, and it's okay to acknowledge your limits. Remember the promise in Joel 2:25, where God assures us, 'And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.' Even in seasons of struggle, He can redeem our times of difficulty. Consider creating a daily mantra—a Scripture or a prayer—that you can repeat in moments of frustration to refocus your heart. I’m praying for you, that God would grant you the patience you seek and fill your heart with His love, allowing you to show your children His grace and understanding. May you feel empowered each day to rise and embrace the beauty of your calling.
