Praying for Peace Amid Retirement Anxiety
I am a few months away from retiring, and I am feeling a heavy weight of anxiety about this transition. My entire adult life has revolved around my job, and the idea of stepping into retirement fills me with fear. I worry about what my days will look like and whether I’ll find purpose outside of work. I feel like I could lose a part of myself. Please pray that God would calm my heart and fill me with assurance that He has a plan for my life beyond my career. I want to embrace this new chapter with confidence and joy.

Dear Mike, thank you for sharing your heart. It’s understandable to feel anxious about such a significant life change. Remember that God’s plan for you is rich and full of hope. Philippians 4:7 reminds us that God’s peace can guard our hearts and minds, even amidst uncertainty. You are not defined by your job but by your relationship with Christ. As you navigate this transition, lean on His promises and seek His guidance. Consider this a new season to explore other passions, strengthen relationships, or even engage in ministries that might utilize your skills. I’m here for you, praying for calmness in your heart as you enter this new phase. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, I lift Mike up to you. May he experience your peace and find fulfillment in this new phase of life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
