Praying for Purpose After Retirement
As a recent retiree, I am struggling with feelings of anxiety and fear about who I am now that I no longer hold a job title. For years, I was proud of my career and the impact I made, but now I feel invisible and without direction. I’m anxious about what comes next and how I will fill my days meaningfully. I sincerely ask for prayers that I can find strength in my faith and discover new areas where I can serve and contribute. I want to feel valued again, but I am fearful of losing my sense of self.

Dear Bob, thank you for sharing your heart during this significant transition. Feeling lost after retirement is a common experience, but it is essential to remember that your value does not come from your job; it comes from being a beloved child of God. Lamentations 3:23 states, 'They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.' Every day is an opportunity for God to renew your spirit and show you new paths to walk. You are still needed in the world, and God has a plan for you. Lean on Him during this time of uncertainty. Remember to pray about your fears, as Philippians 4:6 instructs us. I want to pray for you now: Lord, please be with Bob as he navigates this change. Help him find peace and a renewed sense of purpose in You. Amen.
