Praying for Wisdom in Foster Parenting
Dear Father, I humbly ask for your wisdom as I start fostering children who have faced trauma. I want to be a beacon of hope and healing for them, but I often feel unsure of how to approach their complex emotions. Please grant me the insight to understand their struggles and the skills to communicate effectively with them. I desire to create an atmosphere of love and safety, yet I fear that my own limitations might prevent me from doing so. Help me to draw on your strength and the resources available to me. Guide me as I learn and grow alongside them. I know that with your help, we can overcome the challenges we face. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Dear Sophie, thank you for your prayer request. Your heart to foster children is truly a beautiful calling, and it’s natural to feel apprehensive about the challenges ahead. Remember, God has not called you to this journey without equipping you. In Isaiah 40:31, we read, 'But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.' Lean into Him during times of uncertainty, and you will find the strength you need. It’s also vital to build a support system. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us that 'Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.' Surround yourself with those who understand your journey. Let’s pray for your foster care experience: Lord, bless Sophie with wisdom and support as she fosters these children. Amen.
