Reaching My Basketball Team with Christ's Love
As a high school basketball coach, my passion is not just about teaching skills on the court but also about instilling values that will guide my players in life. Recently, I've felt a heavy burden on my heart to share the love of Christ with my team. These young men come from diverse backgrounds, and many of them face challenges that can diminish their hope. I see potential in each of them, but I want them to see that their true worth comes from God. My prayer is for wisdom and courage to speak about faith in a way that resonates with them. I desire to create an environment where they feel safe to explore their beliefs and ask questions about salvation. Please pray for my heart to remain open and for the Holy Spirit to guide our conversations. I want to plant seeds of faith that will flourish in their lives.

Dear James, your heart for your players is commendable, and I want to encourage you in this important mission. Remember, God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Your role as a coach gives you a unique platform to influence these young lives positively. In Romans 10:9, we are reminded that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. Sharing Jesus should flow naturally from the love and respect you model to your team. As you create open conversations, ensure to listen to their concerns and doubts. Ezekiel 18:23 says, 'Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?' This shows God's deep desire for everyone to know Him. Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide your words while being a mentor on and off the court. Let's pray together: Lord, give James the wisdom and courage to guide his players towards You and let his words plant seeds of faith in their hearts. In Jesus' name, Amen.
