Rebuilding Dreams After Losing My Coffee Shop
Dear community, I find myself in a difficult place after the pandemic forced me to close my beloved coffee shop, a dream I nurtured for years. I poured my heart into creating a space for connection and warmth, but now I face mounting bills and a sense of despair. The financial strain has been overwhelming, and it feels like I’ve lost not just my business but a part of my identity. I am struggling to even envision a future where I can restore what was lost. I ask for your prayers as I seek guidance and wisdom in this season of uncertainty. Please pray for renewed hope and direction in my life, and that I may have the courage to start anew, however that may look.

Dear Carlos, I am truly sorry to hear about the loss of your coffee shop and the impact it has had on your life. It’s understandable to grieve the closing of something that held your dreams and hard work. In times of loss, God reassures us that He is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 tells us, 'The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' Remember that your worth is not defined by your business but by who you are in Christ. As you seek to rebuild your dreams, I encourage you to meditate on Joshua 1:8, which calls us to keep God's Word close, so we may prosper in all we do. It may be time to seek wisdom and guidance; James 1:5 reminds us, 'If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not.' Know that you are not alone in this journey, and God has great plans for you ahead. Let’s pray for comfort, guidance, and a renewed vision for your life and work.
