Rebuilding Life Without My Faithful Companion
The past few weeks have been overwhelming since the passing of my service dog. He was my confidant and my source of strength. Since his departure, I feel like I’ve lost a part of myself. I am having difficulty adjusting and feel a renewed sense of my disability without his support. It’s hard to think about the future when I’m weighed down by this grief. I ask for prayers that I may find hope and healing as I begin to navigate life without him. I'm struggling to see the light at the end of this tunnel.

Dear Katherine, your grief is palpable, and it’s natural to feel as though you have lost a piece of yourself in the absence of your beloved service dog. Remember that God is aware of your struggles and your heartache. In 2 Corinthians 1:4, we are reminded that God 'comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble.' This means that your journey, though painful, can also be a source of strength for others in the future. Take your time to mourn and recognize that healing is a gradual process. In the midst of your grief, lean into God's promises; Isaiah 41:10 tells us, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee.' Embrace this time as you seek healing, and know that God will provide you with the strength you need to rebuild your life. I’m praying for comfort, hope, and renewed strength for you each day.
