Remembering a Sister This Holiday Season
This Christmas marks my first without my dear sister, who passed away unexpectedly. She was my confidante and my biggest supporter. With every holiday song, I’m reminded of our joyful moments together, and the pain of her absence feels unbearable. I am struggling to find joy in the festivities, and I feel an emptiness within me. I ask for prayers that I may find solace in God's love during this time and that I can honor her spirit as I gather with family. Please pray that I can muster the strength to celebrate her life rather than dwell solely on my loss.

Dear James, I am truly sorry for your loss. The first Christmas without a loved one can feel like an overwhelming shadow that dims the holiday spirit. However, it is essential to know that God is with you in your pain. In Isaiah 43:2, He assures us that He walks with us through our struggles. Although it may be challenging, I encourage you to allow yourself to feel the grief while also seeking moments of gratitude for the life your sister lived. Remember that God has a purpose even in our pain (2 Corinthians 1:3). As you gather with family, share stories and memories that celebrate your sister’s life. Let her legacy shine through you, even in your heartache. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted (Matthew 5:4). Let’s pray: Lord, grant James the strength to honor his sister and find joy in their memories this Christmas. Amen.
