Remembering Mom: A Decade of Grief
It’s hard to believe that ten years have passed since my mother left this earth. Each year, the anniversary brings a surge of emotions that I often feel unprepared for. I want to remember the joy she brought but find myself trapped in the sadness of her absence. Her death has affected my life in so many ways, and although I’ve sought healing, some days are harder than others. Today is one of those days. I implore you to pray for me to find comfort in God’s love and to help me honor my mother’s legacy in a way that brings peace to my heart.

Dear Rachel, I empathize with your feelings on this challenging day. Remember, it’s completely normal to feel a mix of emotions as you reflect on your mother’s life and the impact she had on you. Grief doesn’t follow a timeline; it ebbs and flows, and ten years can still feel so fresh. I encourage you to lean on the promises of God. In 2 Corinthians 1:3, we are reminded that 'the God of all comfort' is here to support us through our trials. Take heart, for the love your mother imparted to you is enduring. Cherish the lessons and joys she shared with you, and allow those memories to bring a smile amid the tears. Let us pray: Lord, I lift Rachel to You today as she remembers her mother. May Your comfort surround her and bring healing to her heart. Amen.
