Reviving My Heart Amidst Spiritual Apathy
Dear Lord, I come to you feeling like my faith is stuck in neutral. I’ve been attending church and participating in community, but my heart feels lukewarm. It’s as if my passion for You has dwindled and I’m just going through the motions. I desire a deep, genuine revival in my spirit that reinvigorates my relationship with You. I miss the joy of feeling Your presence and the fervor of sharing Your love with others. Sometimes, I even question if I’m truly living out my faith, or if I’m just following the routine. I yearn for a revival that transforms me from the inside out. Please pray for me to find that spark again and to truly feel Your guiding hand in my life.
Pastor's Response
Pastor James Okafor
Associate Pastor, Covenant Presbyterian Church
Dear Jessica, thank you for your heartfelt prayer. It’s entirely normal to go through seasons where our faith feels stagnant. In those moments, I want to remind you of God’s promise in James 4:8, 'Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.' It’s in your yearning for Him that He is already drawing closer. I encourage you to spend time in prayer and worship, even when it feels difficult. 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us that 'we walk by faith, not by sight.' Lean into that faith, even if your feelings don’t match it right now. Remember that true revival starts with your heart, and as you seek Him, He will awaken your spirit. Allow Him to renew your strength as Isaiah 40:31 says, 'But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.' Let us pray together that God ignites a flame in you that cannot be extinguished. Lord, I ask that You help Jessica experience the depth of Your love and revive her spirit completely. Amen.
