Seeking Christ's Guidance for My Wrestling Team
Coaching my high school wrestling team has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life, but I feel a deep yearning to share Christ's love with my athletes. Many of these young men are facing intense pressure to perform, and I want them to know that their identity is not in their victories or losses but in Jesus. I pray for each of them, that they would find hope beyond the mats. I have been looking for ways to incorporate discussions about faith into our practices, but I feel unsure about how to approach the topic. My prayer is for creativity and courage to help them understand that God has a purpose for their lives that goes beyond sports. I want to see them transformed by the power of the Gospel and to develop a strong foundation in their faith. Please pray for guidance and for the seeds of faith to take root in their hearts.

Dear Elijah, your desire to reach your wrestling team for Christ is commendable and reflects a heart of love for your athletes. Remember that God has a unique plan for each of them, as you mentioned, and His desire is for everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). You have the opportunity to not only coach them in wrestling but also guide them in faith. In Romans 10:9, we find the assurance that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our hearts, we will be saved. This is the message of hope you can share in your team environment. Consider sharing personal testimonies and stories of faith during team meetings or while engaging in team-building exercises. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in these discussions. Let’s pray together: Father, grant Elijah the wisdom to share Your love with his wrestling team and help each athlete find their identity in Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.
