Seeking Clarity on Seminary Decision

·Anonymous·April 4, 2026

As a recent college graduate, I find myself at a crossroads regarding my future. I have always felt a calling to serve God, and seminary seems like the perfect path for me. However, I'm overwhelmed with doubts about whether I am truly equipped for such a journey. The thought of leaving my current job and possibly incurring debt for tuition weighs heavily on my heart. I ask for prayers for clarity and guidance as I seek God's will for my life. I want to be obedient to His calling, but fear of the unknown paralyzes me. Please pray that I can discern whether this is the right step or if God has another plan for me.

Dear Emily, it's wonderful to hear about your desire to serve God and consider seminary as a path to fulfill that calling. It's completely normal to feel anxious about such a significant decision. Remember, God promises us guidance when we seek Him earnestly. As it says in Proverbs 3:6, "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Trust that He knows your heart and your capabilities. Reflect on Romans 10:17, which states, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Immerse yourself in prayer and Scripture as you navigate this process. Don’t rush your decision; take time to listen. Lastly, James 1:5 encourages us that if we lack wisdom, we should ask of God. I encourage you to pray and seek counsel from trusted mentors in your life. May the Lord bless you with peace and clarity as you consider your next steps. Let me pray for you: Father God, we lift Emily up to You. May she feel Your presence and guidance in every decision she makes. Amen.
