Seeking Comfort in a One-Sided Spiritual Relationship
I’m a 30-year-old woman who has been married for seven years, and I love my husband dearly. However, he is not a believer, and I often feel like I’m carrying the weight of our spiritual life alone. In moments when I engage with my church community, I feel an ache in my heart knowing he is not by my side. Sometimes, I feel embarrassed or frustrated when friends ask about my husband’s faith. I want to support him without compromising my beliefs and desire for a shared spiritual journey. I ask for prayer that God will provide me with guidance on how to be a loving witness while dealing with my own feelings of loneliness.

Dear Sophia, thank you for sharing your heartfelt struggle. It's clear how much you love your husband, and it’s commendable that you wish to support him in his journey. It can be challenging to feel alone spiritually, but remember that God is ever-present. In Hebrews 13:5, we are reminded, 'I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.' In moments of loneliness, lean into God’s promises. Your role as a loving spouse is powerful, and you can witness through your love and actions. Romans 12:10 reminds us to 'be kindly affectioned one to another,' and this can create an environment where your husband may feel drawn to your faith. Pray for him and be patient, allowing God to work in his heart in His time. I will keep you in my prayers, asking for strength and wisdom as you navigate this road together.
