Seeking Community Support for My Disabled Daughter
Hi, I’m John, and I’m feeling incredibly isolated as I care for my daughter who has cerebral palsy. The responsibilities sometimes feel like they are too much for me to handle, and I struggle with feelings of loneliness and despair. My wife works long hours to support our family, leaving me with most of the caregiving duties. I desperately seek prayer for my family—that we find understanding friends and a supportive community. I want to be the best father I can be for my daughter, but some days I just don’t know how to cope.

Dear John, thank you for reaching out and sharing your heart. Your love for your daughter shines through your words. God understands the weight you carry. "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2). It's essential to seek community, and I encourage you to reach out to local churches or support groups where you can connect with others who understand your journey. Remember, God's promise is that "He will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten" (Joel 2:25). You are not alone in this; God walks with you. Let's pray for the Lord to bring new friendships and support into your life, providing you with the strength and resilience you need. Amen.
