Seeking Connection with God After a Long Dry Spell
I am a 28-year-old single mother who has struggled for several years to feel connected to God. Life has been overwhelming, and amidst the chaos, I feel my spiritual life has become dry. My prayers often seem to hit a wall, and during worship, I find my mind wandering. I desperately want to feel that connection again and to pass a thriving faith on to my child, but I feel stuck. Please pray for me as I navigate this challenging time and strive to find the joy and hope in my relationship with God.

Dear Rachel, thank you for sharing your heart with us. It’s commendable that you desire to grow spiritually for both yourself and your child. Sometimes, spiritual dryness can occur during times of great stress and responsibility, but it’s a vital part of our faith journey. Remember, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He knows your struggles. Engage in worship by focusing on Scripture songs that speak to your heart and allow His Word to penetrate your spirit. Romans 10:17 tells us that 'faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' Continue to seek Him in prayer, and know that He is present even when you don’t feel it. My prayer is that God restores your joy and brings a new freshness to your faith. Let’s pray for healing in your spirit and a resurgence of faith.
