Seeking Consistency in Scripture Reading

🙏163 people praying
·Emily·April 7, 2026

Dear Lord, I want to come to You with a heavy heart about my inconsistent Bible reading. I aspire to read daily, yet I often let my busy schedule take precedence, and I feel such shame every time I fall short. I desperately want to feel a connection with You through Your Word, but the guilt of not doing it right weighs heavily on me. It's hard to see others so committed while I struggle to maintain even a few minutes each day. Help me, Lord, to prioritize my time with You and to find the discipline I need to read the Bible consistently. Bring joy back into my reading so I can grow in my faith. Amen.

Dear Emily, thank you for sharing your feelings; it’s important to acknowledge them. Remember that our spiritual journey is personal and unique, and the Lord loves you for your heart to seek Him. As it says in Proverbs 3:6, 'In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.' Acknowledging your desire to read is the first step. Perhaps set aside just 5-10 minutes each day, making it a special time for yourself. Reflect on this: growth doesn’t happen overnight, and God understands our struggles. In Matthew 17:20, we are reminded, 'If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed...' Even the smallest commitment can yield great results in your spiritual life. Let’s pray together: Father, we lift Emily to You, asking for Your grace to flow over her and light the path for her time in Your Word. Help her find joy and purpose in her reading. Amen.
