Seeking Faith in a World Driven by Facts
As a young physicist, I find it increasingly difficult to reconcile my work with my faith. Science is driven by empirical evidence, and while I want to believe in God's existence, the tangible world often clouds my understanding. I frequently feel overwhelmed by loneliness in this struggle, as my family and friends don't understand the depth of my concern. I pray for the faith to trust in God and to see that evidence and belief can coexist harmoniously.

Dear Michael, I appreciate your honest sharing of your struggles. Being in a field steeped in logic and evidence makes it challenging to maintain faith in what cannot always be seen. However, remember that 'we walk by faith, not by sight' (2 Corinthians 5:7). Your quest for truth is a journey that many before you have taken, and God is with you every step of the way. He understands our human need for evidence and invites us to seek Him. 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit' (Psalms 34:18). Allow yourself to explore the beauty of both science and faith. They can complement rather than contradict each other. Pray for the ability to see God’s handiwork in the universe around you. I am praying that He reveals more of Himself to you in your studies and that you find peace in your faith journey.
