Seeking God's Guidance in a Challenging Season
I’m reaching out for prayer because I feel lost in my mission to connect with my crew. The challenges of immigration, language barriers, and cultural differences create walls that seem too high to climb. I often feel like I am not making an impact, and my heart breaks for these men and women, who work so hard but seem to lack hope. I know that God cares for the weary, but I am struggling to find ways to reach out. I don’t want to push them away or force my beliefs upon them but rather create a safe space for them to explore faith. Please pray that God would give me clarity, wisdom, and the right words to share His love.
Pastor's Response
Pastor Sarah Mitchell
Associate Pastor, Covenant Presbyterian Church
Dear Elena, thank you for your heartfelt request. It’s clear that your love for your crew is rooted in deep compassion. It can feel daunting to bridge gaps that seem so wide, but God is faithful to guide us where we feel inadequate. Remember, in Romans 3:23, we are reminded that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. This truth highlights the commonality of our human condition. Use this as a foundation for connection, as it opens avenues for discussing grace and redemption. Furthermore, you can lean on the promise of Ephesians 2:9 that our salvation is not of works; thus, we can invite others into a relationship with God, rather than a performance-based faith. As you approach your crew, be assured that God is with you, and He desires for everyone to know His love (1 Timothy 2:4). Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your conversations, and trust in His timing. I will be praying for divine encounters and the courage to share your faith authentically. Lord, grant Elena wisdom and open hearts among her crew.
