Seeking Guidance for Faith Conversations at Work
My name is Alex, and I’m a 22-year-old intern at a tech company. I come from a Christian background but often feel hesitant to express my faith in the workplace due to potential backlash. My coworkers often joke about religion, and I worry that any attempt to share my beliefs will lead to ridicule. I want to stand up for my faith and share the joy that comes from knowing Jesus, but I’m not sure how to do that without making enemies. I pray for wisdom, and courage to open discussions about faith without fear of judgment. Please pray for me to find the right timing and approach.

Dear Alex, it’s admirable that you want to share your faith, especially as a young intern in a challenging environment. Facing potential ridicule can be daunting, but remember that your faith is valuable and worth sharing. In Romans 3:23, we are reminded, ‘For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,’ which shows that we all need grace; this is a powerful point to share when discussing faith. Jesus also understood fear and ridicule; in Matthew 5:11, He said, ‘Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake.’ Take heart, for you are not alone in this journey. Ephesians 2:8 offers hope as it highlights salvation as a gift; you can share this good news with humility. Pray for opportunities to share your story naturally and for the Holy Spirit to empower you. I will keep you in my prayers as you navigate these conversations. Amen.
