Seeking Healing After a Long Illness
After my partner suffered from a lengthy illness, I am now faced with profound grief after their passing. We had been together for over fifteen years, and the loss is unbearable. I often feel consumed by regret for not being able to do more or alleviate their suffering. I find myself battling feelings of anger towards God for allowing this to happen. I pray for healing, not just from the pain of losing my partner but also the emotional turmoil that keeps coming back like a wave. I need strength to move forward without them, but I feel lost.

Dear Jordan, I sincerely empathize with your grief following the loss of your partner. It is understandable to feel a rollercoaster of emotions, including anger and regret. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:4, 'Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.' Your feelings are valid, and it’s essential to express them to God. In this journey of grief, know that you are not alone; God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalms 34:18), and He is here to walk with you through this challenging time. Grieving is a process, and it is crucial to allow yourself space to heal. Trust in God’s sovereignty and His promise that 'in all things God works for the good of those who love him.' (Romans 8:28). As you seek healing, let’s pray for peace in your heart and guidance as you rebuild your life, carrying precious memories of your partner with you.
