Seeking Hope Amidst Fears of the Afterlife
Hello Pastor Linda, I feel overwhelmed with fear regarding what happens after death. I watch the news and see so much suffering and loss, and it makes me question everything. I fear that I haven’t lived a good enough life for God to accept me into heaven. I often think about the people I’ve lost and wonder if they are at peace. My heart aches with these worries, and I am seeking hope amidst this darkness. Please pray for me that I can find comfort and strength in my faith during these uncertain times.

Dear Elena, thank you for reaching out. It’s completely natural to have fears about the afterlife, especially in a world filled with uncertainty. I want to remind you that our acceptance into heaven is not based on our own merit but solely on Christ’s redemptive work for us. Romans 8:39 reminds us that "nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This is the foundation of our hope. It’s essential to recognize that God understands your fears and cares for your heart. In Psalm 91:15, He promises, "I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him." Seek Him in prayer and allow His peace to guard your heart, as mentioned in Philippians 4:7. Let’s pray: Lord, I bring Elena to You, asking that she may experience Your comfort and hope. May she find peace in Your everlasting promises. Amen.
