Seeking Light in the Darkness of Loss
My son, Tyler, took his own life just last month, and I am struggling to understand how this could happen. He was only 17 and always seemed to be such a joyful spirit. Our whole family is devastated, and some days it feels unbearable. I find myself overwhelmed by questions and a sense of deep loss that I can't articulate. I ask for prayers not just for myself, but for my family and all of Tyler's friends who are also grappling with this tragedy. Please pray that we may find some measure of peace and understanding.

Dear David, my heart breaks for you and your family during this time of unimaginable grief. Losing a child is a deep wound that takes time to heal, and it’s okay to feel lost and even angry. The Bible assures us that 'He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain' (Revelation 21:4). God sees your pain and weeps with you. I encourage you to hold onto those precious memories of Tyler, as they will be a source of comfort as you remember his joy. In your darkest moments, remember that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalms 34:18). Take time to grieve and share your feelings with trusted family and friends. As you navigate through this heavy sorrow, I will pray for peace and understanding to embrace you and your family during this heart-wrenching journey.
