Seeking New Opportunities After Layoff
I’m John, and I recently faced a layoff from my job that I had held for nearly 20 years. This experience has left me feeling disheartened and anxious about the future. I’m a 50-year-old man, and I worry about my age and how it may affect my job prospects. I’ve sent out resumes and applications but have received little response, which leaves me feeling hopeless at times. I am asking for prayer not only for open doors in my job search but also for the strength to keep pushing forward when the discouragement feels overwhelming. I want to maintain my faith in God’s provision during this challenging transition.

Dear John, I can only imagine how challenging this transition must be for you. Losing a long-held job can shake your confidence and leave you feeling vulnerable. However, I want to remind you that your worth and value do not wane with age or circumstance. As the Bible tells us in Proverbs 10:22, 'The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.' God sees you, and He has a plan for your life, even in this season of uncertainty. Remember, 'Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass' (Psalms 37:5). I encourage you to lean into God’s promises and seek Him first in this job search (Matthew 6:33). I pray that you find renewed strength and hope as you continue your search and that God opens doors that no one can shut. Trust in His timing and provision.
