Seeking Strength After Losing My Only Child
I lost my only son to an accidental overdose, and I can’t describe the pain I feel. He was just beginning to carve out his own path in life, filled with hope and potential. Now, the world feels grey and heavy. I’m reaching out for prayer so that I can find the strength to support my family and myself. I want to keep his spirit alive and make him proud, but I feel so weak. I long for a sense of purpose in the wake of this tragedy. Please pray that I can be brave and find a way to honor his memory each day.

Dear Thomas, I can’t express how sorry I am for the loss of your only son. The grief you’re experiencing is immense, and it’s perfectly okay to feel weak and lost. In this difficult time, it’s important to remember that God is your strength. Philippians 4:13 teaches us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Allow yourself to grieve, but also lean into the hope that comes from Christ. In 2 Corinthians 1:4, we find comfort in knowing that God comforts us in our afflictions. As you search for purpose, honor your son's light in the lives of others, and allow his memory to inspire you. Let us pray: Heavenly Father, we lift Thomas up to you. Shower him with your grace and help him find strength in his weakness as he walks through this valley. Amen.
