Seeking Strength After the Loss of Our Child

My husband and I are devastated after our baby’s late-term miscarriage. I feel like we've lost a part of ourselves, and the pain is unbearable. Each day seems to drag on, filled with reminders of our hopes and dreams that won’t come to fruition. I feel disconnected from my husband, as we both seem to cope in different ways. I want us to be strong for each other, but I don’t know how to bridge this gap. Please pray for our healing, for the love in our marriage to grow stronger through this pain, and for us to find a way to connect and support one another. I want to feel God’s presence in our sorrow and to find comfort in His promises.

Dear Maya, I am heartbroken to hear of your loss, and I commend you for reaching out in this difficult time. Grief can create a chasm between even the closest partners, but your desire to support one another is a powerful step toward healing. Remember, God is with you in your sorrow. In Psalms, we are reminded that 'the LORD is near to the brokenhearted' (Psalm 34:18). Allow yourselves the grace to grieve in your own ways while also making room for one another's feelings. As you navigate this journey together, keep praying for God to guide your hearts back to each other. He promises to give us the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let His love be the foundation upon which you rebuild and strengthen your relationship as you heal. I will be praying for both you and your husband, asking that God bring you closer together and imbue your hearts with His comforting presence during this difficult time. In His love, Amen.
