Seeking Strength Amidst the Pain of Trauma

I am a single mother to a foster child who has experienced severe emotional trauma. It breaks my heart to see the pain they endure, and I often feel helpless. I strive to create a safe and loving environment, but my own fears and anxieties about their well-being weigh heavily on me. I worry about their future and how I can best support their healing. I ask for prayers for both of us to find peace, understanding, and resilience through this journey. I want to be a beacon of hope in their life when everything feels overwhelming.

Dear Jasmine, thank you for opening your heart and sharing the challenges you face as a single mother to a child in foster care. This journey may feel lonely at times, but remember that you are not alone—God is with you both. In Romans 12:10, we are encouraged to be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; this is the love you are embodying as you care for your child. It’s also okay to acknowledge your own pain and fears. God understands that too. As it states in 1 Peter 4:8, 'And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.' Your love is a powerful force in this healing process. I encourage you to seek moments of rest and renewal, knowing that God’s grace is sufficient for your needs (2 Corinthians 12:9). May you both find comfort and encouragement in each other. Let’s pray: Lord, I ask You to give Jasmine and her foster child the strength to navigate these challenges together. May Your peace flood their hearts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
