Seeking Strength as a Tired Night Shift Worker
I am Leo, 45 years old, and I work as a truck driver on night shifts. The loneliness on the road and the exhaustion from long hours away from home is overwhelming. My family is my priority, but I feel torn between providing for them and being present in their lives. I often miss family dinners and special occasions, and it hurts. I’m asking for prayers that I can remain strong and focused while on the job, and that I will be able to connect with my loved ones when I return home. I also ask for wisdom in managing my time better. Thank you for your prayers.

Dear Leo, thank you for reaching out with your honest prayer request. It's commendable that you work hard to provide for your family, but it’s also important to acknowledge the toll that such a schedule can take on your emotional well-being. Psalm 46:1 reassures us that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.' Lean on Him during your longest drives and remember that He is always there, even when you feel isolated. Also, remember 1 Timothy 6:6 which emphasizes that godliness with contentment is great gain; find joy in the moments you do have with your family. Finally, I encourage you to find small ways to stay connected with them, perhaps through messages or calls during breaks. I will pray for your strength and peace as you navigate this challenging phase.
