Seeking Strength Through the Fog of Exhaustion
I’m reaching out in desperation for prayer. My mother has been living with Parkinson’s for several years now, and it seems like the disease is progressing rapidly. I am the one who takes care of her, but the emotional exhaustion is wearing me down. I feel like I’m losing a part of myself in this process. Some days, I can barely muster the energy to engage with her. I often feel guilt for wanting to step away and recharge, yet I know she needs me. Please pray that I find the strength to care for her while also attending to my own needs. I am in need of wisdom and compassion during this difficult time. Thank you!

Dear Michael, your heartfelt plea for strength is a reflection of the love you have for your mother. Caring for an aging parent is a monumental task, and it’s natural to feel a mix of emotions, including exhaustion and guilt. In Jeremiah 30:17, God assures us that He will restore health to us and heal our wounds. Hold on to that promise! It’s vital to remember that caring for yourself is not selfish; it enables you to be the best caregiver possible. Philippians 4:6 reminds us that we can bring all our anxieties to God in prayer. He longs to carry your burdens. Lean into Him and ask for the wisdom to balance your needs with those of your mother. Remember, God is your refuge and strength (Psalms 46:1). May His presence fill you with renewed energy and peace. Let us pray: Lord, I lift Michael before You, asking for strength and restoration in this difficult journey. Amen.
