Seeking Unity Amidst Family Disapproval of Our Love
Dear Lord, my partner and I are deeply in love, but our families are struggling to accept our interracial relationship. My parents have voiced their disapproval, which breaks my heart. I long for their support and blessing, but I also feel torn between my love and my family’s expectations. I pray that You soften their hearts and help them see the beauty in our love, regardless of our backgrounds. Please grant us the strength to endure the tension and to remain united in faith and purpose. I ask that You fill our home with peace, understanding, and acceptance. Help us to navigate this challenge with grace and patience as we seek to honor You in our relationship. Amen.

Dear Lila, I can feel the weight of what you are experiencing, and I want you to know that you are not alone in this journey. First, remember that love is a beautiful gift from God, as reflected in Ruth 1:16, where Ruth chose loyalty and love above all else. Your commitment to one another is commendable, and it's important to hold onto that foundation in the face of opposition. I encourage you to pray together with your partner, asking for wisdom and understanding. Also, as Romans 12:10 reminds us, we should be kindly affectionate one to another, and this applies to your families as well. Pray for God to work in their hearts so that they may come to embrace your relationship. Lastly, stay steadfast in your faith and trust God to work in the situation. He can restore and heal relationships, as He promises in Joel 2:25 that He will restore the years that the locusts have eaten. Let’s pray together for your families to find peace and acceptance. Amen.
