Seeking Wisdom in Sharing My Faith
A few months ago, a Muslim friend asked me about my faith during lunch at work. It was a surprising moment as I’ve always been cautious about discussing religion. Now, they keep bringing it up, and I feel the weight of responsibility to answer their questions truthfully and respectfully. I often find myself lacking the right words, and I fear saying something that could turn them away. I want them to encounter Jesus through my words and actions. Please pray for me to have clarity, courage, and wisdom in these conversations. I want to reflect Christ’s love and truth while being sensitive to their beliefs.

Dear Sarah, it’s heartening to hear about your friend’s curiosity regarding your faith. The openness to dialogue is a significant step, and it reflects a hunger for understanding. Remember that God has not given us the spirit of fear; instead, He has equipped us with power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Your desire to reflect Christ’s love is crucial in these discussions. Ephesians 2:8 reminds us that 'by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.' This grace is what you can share with your friend—an understanding that salvation is a gift, not a result of your eloquence. As you engage, rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you. Jesus promised in John 14:6, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' You are planting seeds of truth in your conversations. Continue to pray for your friend’s heart and wisdom in your words. I will be praying for you both; may God’s light shine through you.
